Retired Coast Guardsman raises $4,000 for Fallen Heroes Fund

On August 20, Coast Guard veteran Lt. Scott White crossed the finish line in his 4,371 mile journey across the country to Bike to Remember the Coast Guard’s fallen heroes.

The Pacific to the Atlantic journey took him off the beaten path through small town America chronicling his ever changing scenery, terrain, and emotions through social media.

Lt. White was “overwhelmed” by the tremendous support he received, including from many still wearing the uniform and also those who have retired and transitioned on to other chapters in their lives. He proudly served in the Coast Guard for 30 years, and having recently retired to civilian life himself, was looking for the opportunity to give back to the Coast Guard community.

“I know that the Coast Guard Foundation is always there to enhance the lives of Coast Guard men and women,” he said. “So being able to contribute to a community, my Coast Guard family, was important to me.”
