Heroes of the Storm To Be Honored in Washington D.C.

The 14th annual Tribute to the United States Coast Guard in Our Nation’s Capital will take place on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. The theme for this year’s event is “Heroes of the Storm.” The event will be dedicated to recognizing the Coast Guard heroism during 2017 hurricane rescue, response, and relief efforts - as well as recognizing the Chief Petty Officer’s Association.

Admiral Karl L. Schultz, the current nominee to become the 26th Commandant of the Coast Guard, will deliver keynote remarks. ADM Schultz will assume the duties as Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard on June 1, 2018. He previously served from August 2016 to May 2018 as the Commander, Atlantic Area where he was the operational commander for all Coast Guard missions, spanning across five Coast Guard Districts and 40 states.
