Foundation Honors Ensign Richard ‘Ricky’ Davies through Fallen Heroes Support

Posted on November 01, 2016

Taking care of Coast Guard families is one of the Coast Guard Foundation’s most solemn, and important tasks. It’s thanks to our supporters that we stand always ready to act in times of tragedy and help families and Coast Guard members grieve without having to worry about the financial burden during these difficult, heart-wrenching situations.

Sadly, this October our Fallen Heroes program was activated to support the family, friends, and shipmates of Ensign Richard ‘Ricky’ Davies.

Davies, 22, was a 2016 Coast Guard Academy graduate who in June reported aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Tahoma in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, as a Deck Watch Officer.

To honor the life and memory of this dedicated shipmate the Foundation worked closely with the Coast Guard to provide a memorial service at the Academy with a reception, flower arrangements, and airline tickets and buses for Davies’ family and shipmates from the Tahoma to be present.
